About EFILE
|
EFILE is an automated system that allows approved filers to deliver income tax return information to CRA electronically. Its benefits include faster processing, improved accuracy, and ease of payment - taxpayers can file early and not pay until April 30.
Most people (about 95%) qualify to use EFILE On-Line Plus. Those who cannot include non-residents, people who have declared bankruptcy, and people owing taxes in more than one province. Great care is taken to ensure your confidentiality. All EFILERS and transmitters must be approved by CRA. All transmissions are encrypted and only CRA can decrypt your information. The use of 128-bit Secure Sockets Layer encryption (also known as SSL) protects information by verifying the identity of the parties on both ends of the Internet connection, before confidential information is exchanged. SSL protocol provides a safe passage for the transmission of data and authentication processes. Data can't be compromised when SSL is in use. This is the most secure form of encryption commonly available in North America.
Copies of all EFILE publications can be found on the Canada Revenue Agency Web Site.
